The MBA institutions argued that All India Council for Technical Education is wrongly interpreting its regulation which suggests that even though the University is not required to take permission from the All India Council for Technical Education (for short AICTE), its affiliated colleges are required to do so.

Varsity affiliated colleges need not take AICTE approval to run MBA and MCA too
They just need to be approved by UGC

AICTE (ALL INDIA COUNCIL OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION) is required if you are doing management studies. You should do your MBA in such institute or B school which has AICTE approval.

Yes it is true now there is no need of AICTE approval to run MBA programmes. Now AICTE has no power to validate MBA programme of any institutes.

Ha!! what a great relief for colleges to not get it's MBA course approved by AICTE. Now there would be more small colleges in many areas giving MBA degrees and all the students there would be a kind of unemployed as they won't be able to provide placements to their students.
